ReelIQ Is Live on the App Store
It's happening. ReelIQ is live on the App Store today.
After a long stretch of building, testing, and one last on-water trip with wet hands and wind we'd rather forget — ReelIQ is officially in your hands. Download it, log a catch, and tell us what you think.
What you're getting
ReelIQ is the AI fishing app for iPhone, built around three ideas:
- On-device AI species identification. Snap a photo, ReelIQ tells you what you caught. 775 species, fully offline. Works at the dock, on the boat, miles from cell service.
- A bite forecast trained on your catches. Most apps give you a generic forecast. ReelIQ scores every day 0–100 based on your history — your best temperatures, moon phases, barometric windows, water bodies. The more you log, the sharper it gets.
- Private by design. No account. No email. No data on our servers. Your catches, GPS spots, and patterns stay on your iPhone, full stop. That part wasn't a marketing line — it was a non-negotiable from day one.
Plus the rest: 7-day forecast, Solunar feeding windows, AR fish measurement, branded share cards, Home Screen widgets, the works. The features page has the full list.
Pricing
We tried to keep this fair:
- Free for the first 10 catches, forever. Take it for a real spin before you pay anything.
- ReelIQ Pro: $4.99/month or $29.99/year (about $2.50/month).
- 7-day free trial on the yearly plan for new subscribers.
The free tier gets you the full catch flow with AI species ID, GPS, weather auto-fill, and AR measurement. Pro unlocks unlimited catches, the bite forecast, Insights, the heatmap, widgets, and share cards.
What's next
A few honest words about the road ahead.
This is version 1.0 — solid, tested, ready for real anglers — but the roadmap is wide open. We're an indie team in North Dakota, and we build based on what you actually tell us. If something feels off, if there's a species we should support better, if there's a feature you'd love, send us a note. We read every message.
Next on our list:
- Sponsoring and fishing the Dakota Walleye Classic July 24–25 on Lake Sakakawea
- More species accuracy on the trickier IDs (we already log the corrections you make and improve from them)
- iCloud backup so your catches survive a phone upgrade
- A few things we're not announcing yet
Thank you
Every beta tester, every early reader of this blog, every angler who emailed feedback during the build — thank you. ReelIQ exists because you cared enough to push us toward something good.
If you've been waiting for the link: here it is. Tight lines.

AI species identification is a suggestion only and may not be accurate. Always verify species and check local regulations.
